Confirm your shop's country and your own country
In short
When the countries we know for you don't match, the counter asks the shop owner once: Check your countries. Confirm your shop's country and your own, or tap Later.
If the country you signed up from, your own country and your main shop's country don't all match, Credit Khata asks you once to confirm them. A sheet called Check your countries opens in the counter app, and in the Android app from its next release. Pick the right country for your shop and for yourself, then tap Confirm, and you are never asked again.
Only the shop owner is asked. Staff, riders and customers never see the question.
Why we ask
Three countries can disagree:
- The country you signed up from. We work it out from the internet connection you used to open your shop. A VPN, a proxy or a hosting service says nothing about where you really are, so a sign-up through one of them is ignored.
- Your own country. It is private and kept with your own contact details. Customers never see it.
- Your shop's country. This is your main shop's country. Customers see it, and it decides which payment methods you are offered, such as JazzCash and Easypaisa in Pakistan or M-Pesa in Kenya.
If a wrong country stays on your shop, your customers see it and your payment options are for the wrong place. Confirming once settles it.
Confirm your countries
- Sign in to the counter app as the owner. If your countries don't match, Check your countries opens over the counter.
- Read the line under the title. It either names the country your sign-up came from, as in "You signed up from Pakistan. Please confirm where your shop is and where you live.", or says that your shop's country and your own country are different.
- Under Your shop's country, next to your shop's name, pick the country your shop trades in. The note under it reads "Customers see it, and it decides which payment methods you are offered."
- Under Your own country, pick the country you live in. The note reads "Private. Customers never see it."
- Tap Confirm.
Both fields start on what is already saved, or else on the country you signed up from, so often you only need to check them and tap Confirm. Any country can be picked in either field.
If you tap Later
Nothing changes. The sheet closes, you carry on working, and it comes back the next time you open the app. Once you tap Confirm, it never comes back, in this app or any other.
In the Android app
The same question comes to the Android app with its next release, with the same fields and the same Later and Confirm buttons. Your answer is saved on your account, so once you have confirmed in one app, neither app asks again.
Good to know
- Only the owner is asked. Staff with their own logins, riders and customers never are. See Give staff their own logins: manager or cashier.
- If you have several branches, the question is about your main shop. Your branches keep their own details.
- You can still change either country later in the counter's Profile: your shop's under Identity → Country, and your own under My contact details.
- Your shop's country decides which payment methods you can add. After changing it, check your accounts as described in Add your JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank details so customers can pay you.
- Your own country is never shown to customers. More about your data in Download your data, secure your account or delete it.
Frequently asked questions
Why is Credit Khata asking about my countries?
Because the country you signed up from, your own country and your main shop's country don't all match. Confirming them once makes sure customers see the right country and you are offered the right payment methods.
What happens if I tap Later?
Nothing is changed. The question comes back the next time you open the app, until you confirm.
Can customers see my own country?
No. Your own country is private. Customers see only your shop's country.
I signed up through a VPN. Is that why I am asked?
No. When a sign-up comes through a VPN, a proxy or a hosting service, its country is ignored. You are only asked if the countries that remain, your own and your shop's, are different.
Will my staff be asked too?
No. Only the shop owner is asked. Staff, riders and customers never see the question.
