> Copy-ready WhatsApp payment reminders for shops in English and Roman Urdu: before the due date, on the day, overdue, a second reminder, plus thank-you and payment-plan messages.

A good payment reminder is short, private and exact: the customer's name, your shop's name, the amount, the due date, how to pay, and a thank-you. Below are ready-to-use templates in English and Roman Urdu for each stage, from a gentle nudge before the due date to a firmer second reminder, plus thank-you and payment-plan messages. The ones in the first section use the placeholders {name}, {shop}, {balance}, {due\_date} and {link}, so you can paste them straight into Credit Khata's reminder settings.

Replace the example JazzCash number (0300 1234567) with your own before you use them.

## What every reminder should have

1. **A greeting and the customer's name.** It is a message to a person, not a notice.
2. **Your shop's name**, so they know who it is from.
3. **The exact amount**, not "your dues".
4. **The due date**, if you agreed one.
5. **How to pay**: your wallet number, or "at the counter".
6. **A way to check**: a statement or a link to their account.
7. **A thank-you.**

And one thing it should never have: other people. Send reminders privately, never in a group.

## Templates with placeholders

In Credit Khata, the words in curly brackets are filled in for each customer when you send: **{name}**, **{shop}**, **{balance}**, **{due\_date}** and **{link}** (a one-time link to the customer's own khata, valid for 24 hours).

### 1. Friendly reminder before the due date

English:

```
Hello {name}, a friendly reminder from {shop}: your balance is {balance}, due on {due_date}. You can see every entry here: {link}. Thank you!
```

Roman Urdu:

```
Assalam o Alaikum {name}, {shop} ki taraf se yaad-dehani: aap ka baqaya {balance} hai, jo {due_date} tak ada karna hai. Apna khata yahan dekhein: {link}. Shukriya!
```

### 2. On the due date, with how to pay

English:

```
Hello {name}, today is the due date for your balance of {balance} at {shop}. You can send it by JazzCash to 0300 1234567 or pay at the counter. Your khata: {link}
```

Roman Urdu:

```
Assalam o Alaikum {name}, aaj {shop} ke baqaya {balance} ki adaigi ki tareekh hai. JazzCash 0300 1234567 par bhej dein ya dukaan par ada kar dein. Aap ka khata: {link}
```

### 3. Overdue, still polite

English:

```
Hello {name}, your balance of {balance} at {shop} was due on {due_date}. If you have already paid, please ignore this message. Otherwise, please clear it this week. Details: {link}
```

Roman Urdu:

```
Assalam o Alaikum {name}, {shop} mein aap ka baqaya {balance} {due_date} ko ada hona tha. Agar aap ada kar chuke hain to is message ko nazarandaz kar dein, warna meherbani kar ke is hafte ada kar dein. Tafseel: {link}
```

### 4. Second reminder, firmer

English:

```
{name}, this is a second reminder from {shop}. Your balance of {balance} is still unpaid. Please pay, or reply with a date that suits you, so we can keep your khata open. Details: {link}
```

Roman Urdu:

```
{name} sahib, {shop} ki taraf se doosri yaad-dehani: aap ka baqaya {balance} abhi tak baqi hai. Meherbani kar ke ada kar dein ya koi tareekh bata dein, taake aap ka khata chalta rahe. Tafseel: {link}
```

### 5. For customers without a due date

English:

```
Hello {name}, your balance at {shop} is {balance}. Please pay when convenient. You can see every entry here: {link}. Thank you!
```

Roman Urdu:

```
Assalam o Alaikum {name}, {shop} mein aap ka baqaya {balance} hai. Jab mumkin ho ada kar dein. Tamam entries yahan dekhein: {link}. Shukriya!
```

In Credit Khata, your own message is used for every reminder the shop sends. If some customers have no due date, {due\_date} is left empty for them, so choose wording like template 5, or set a due date for everyone you remind.

## Messages to send by hand

These are for moments the reminder feature does not cover. Replace the words in square brackets yourself.

**Thank you for a payment**

```
Thank you [name], we received [amount] today. Your balance at [shop] is now [balance].
```

```
Shukriya [name], aaj [amount] mil gaye. [shop] mein ab aap ka baqaya [balance] hai.
```

**Confirming a payment plan**

```
As agreed, [name], you will pay [amount] every [day] until the balance of [balance] is cleared. We will remind you the day before. Thank you.
```

```
[name] sahib, tay hua ke aap har [din] [amount] ada karenge jab tak [balance] ka baqaya khatam na ho. Hum ek din pehle yaad dila denge. Shukriya.
```

**Pausing new credit, kindly**

```
[name], until your balance of [balance] comes down, we can only give items for cash. As soon as it does, your khata will be open again. Thank you for understanding.
```

```
[name] sahib, jab tak aap ka baqaya [balance] kam na ho, hum sirf naqad saman de sakenge. Baqaya kam hote hi khata dobara khul jaye ga. Samajhne ka shukriya.
```

## Tips on timing and tone

- **Send near pay day.** A reminder the morning after salary day is more useful than one at the end of a long month.
- **Once a week is enough** after the due date. More often feels like pressure.
- **Avoid late nights and holidays.** A reminder on the morning of Eid will be remembered for the wrong reasons.
- **Match their language.** If the customer writes to you in Roman Urdu, remind them in Roman Urdu.
- **Keep it short.** One or two sentences, the amount and the way to pay.
- **Let them check.** A link or a statement answers "how did it get to this much?" before they have to ask.

## Send them in seconds with Credit Khata

In Credit Khata, owners and managers can save one of these as the shop's reminder message:

1. Open **Reminders → Settings**.
2. Paste the template into **Message**. You can tap **{name}**, **{shop}**, **{balance}**, **{due\_date}** and **{link}** to insert them.
3. Check it under **Preview**, set **Only remind when they owe at least**, and tap **Save**.

Then open **Reminders → Overdue** and tap **Remind all**. For each customer, tap **WhatsApp** or **SMS**; your own app opens with the message filled in, and you press send. Messages can be up to 480 characters. If you leave **Message** empty, the standard English wording is used.

## Frequently asked questions

### What should a payment reminder message include?

The customer's name, your shop's name, the exact amount, the due date if there is one, how to pay, and a polite thank-you. A link to their account helps them check it themselves.

### How often should I send reminders?

Once around the due date, and then about once a week while it stays unpaid. Daily messages tend to annoy rather than work.

### Is it better to remind on WhatsApp or by SMS?

Use whatever the customer reads. WhatsApp is free to send and lets you include a link; SMS reaches customers without a smartphone.

### Can Credit Khata send these messages for me?

Credit Khata fills in the name, shop, balance, due date and a khata link, then opens WhatsApp or SMS on your phone with the message ready. You press send.
